Why I Love the Internet

5 04 2008

There are a lot of reasons to love the internet – it makes research easier and allows me to procrastinate endless hours away. I think April Fool’s Day best summed up some of the aspects I love about the internet.

  • My morning comics totally fooled me. I tried to go to Questionable Content, was sent to Dinosaur Comics. Tried xkcd, sent back to QC. A devious trio of comic writers. I was unbelievably confused with the QC issue until I also tried xkcd. Then I was able to read my morning comic and I was happy.
  • Super Pii Pii Brothers: ThinkGeek is fun at any time and this was just icing on the cake. The page was sent to me by a friend, and I was a little suspicious when I saw it since the internet had already fooled me once that morning. The thing is, I could see such a product existing – I’m not sure what this says about me. There were more April Fool’s Day products but none of them were as amazing as this game.
  • Virgle: This one didn’t fool me – I just thought it was fun and enjoyable. I actually had to have it pointed out to me – even though I use Google constantly throughout the day, I didn’t notice the link from the search page. I recommend doing the questionnaire.
